SOLIDWORKS Model Airplane Tutorials
Welcome to cudacountry's SOLIDWORKS 2016 and Mastercam 2017 Model Foam Airplane Tutorials. We use SOLIDWORKS 2016 to design our airplanes and Mastercam 2017 to create CNC toolpaths to cut the fuselage.
The foam airplane model is designed to fly Kevin.com's power pole. Use Dow’s Scoreboard EPS Polystyrene for the fuselage and foam food trays for the wings and stabilizers.

17. SW16 to Mastercam 2017. In this tutorial you open your fuselage file in Mastercam 2017. In Mastercam 2017 you rotate solid fuselage into the correct Mastercam XY planes to cut on CNC mill, create a wireframe centered around the solid for Blend Toolpath and loft flat cut surface. Also, your create new WCS view for bottom cut toolplane. Units all inches. |

18. Fuselage toolpaths. Create Toolpaths to cut fuselage from Dow’s Scoreboard EPS Polystyrene: 1) Top cut using Finish Blend. 2) Copy Top Cut Toolpath and Paste to create Bottom Cut Toolpath. Uses CO2 dragster fixture to hold foam in mill. Units all inches. |
